The canvas is not lined. There is a layer of milky varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating. However, UV examination reveals no traces of retouching. The canvas is slightly loose in its stretcher and gently undulating, predominately to the right and upper left corners, with some associated fine lines of stable craquelure. There are some further lines of stable craquelure, predominately to the green pigments. There are some fly spots in places. There is an approx. 5mm dent towards the lower left corner, and a further 2cm dent with two spots of associated paint loss towards the left of the lower edge. There are two further dents; one towards the centre of the lower edge, and the other vertically above this one, above the roof of the house. There is some minor pigment rubbing to the some of the extreme edges. There is a faint vertical stretcher bar mark to the centre. This work would benefit from a light clean. This work is in overall fairly good condition.
