• cal. 17SVF circular nickel lever movement, 19 jewels, bi-metallic compensation balance • silvered dial, Breguet numerals, subsidiary dials for day, month combined with leap year, date, and fan-form aperture for moon-phases and ages combined with seconds • cushion-form case in platinum and yellow gold, stepped bezel, arched pendant, snap-on case back with applied monogram and 1954 presentation engraving • case, dial and movement signed Gübelin, case and movement numbered 29521 for Audemars Piguet 

Condition

Movement running at time of cataloging, however not tested for the accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Calendar functions correctly. Case in good condition with wear and scuffing consistent with use and age. Case back with patina surrounding the applied monogram and engraving. Dial with light surface scratches, discoloration and patina overall, notably to the subsidiary dials. Movement with light scratches and some loss of finish.

With a Gübelin fitted suede period pouch.

Audemars Piguet confirms production of this watch in 1922 and sale in 1924 to Gübelin.

The present lot bears a presentation engraving to the case back for President Dwight D. Eisenhower, 34th President of the United States of America.
