Manual winding movement and other functions are all in working order while cataloguing, but it has not been tested for the accuracy of time keeping and a service might be required at the buyer's expense in the near future. Dial is very nice and clean, in excellent condition. Case is quite clean in general, only minor surface scratches on the band. One relatively noticeable scratch on the left band near 9 o'clock. Overall condition is very good. **The strap of this wristwatch is made from an endangered species, please refer to important notices for further information**.

百達翡麗於2009年推出5101R型號向約於1956生產的長方形陀飛輪腕錶致敬，此型號記載於Huber, M. & Banberry, A.所著的《百達翡麗懷錶》第二版第一卷第178-179頁。

三段階梯式錶殼設計呈現百達翡麗早期裝飾藝術風格。為了將兩種罕有複雜的功能結合，百達翡麗工程師花費三年的時間，研發出可以承受十日鍊運行所需扭力的新型陀飛輪機芯。為了避免分鐘齒輪遮擋陀飛輪運轉之美態，整個動力傳輸機制的位置被移至錶盤側方。陀飛輪作為機芯主要部件則位處機芯橋一側，透過藍寶石水晶錶背透蓋可一覽無遺。旋轉陀飛輪架包含了72個精密部件，僅重0.3克。

雙發條盒內所串聯的發條提供10日動力儲存所需之能量，兩者同時上鏈，大發條盒可將動能轉移至另一小發條盒。前者備有調節器系統，防止主發條上鏈過度，在上滿鏈時脫離發條桶。因腕錶結構繁複精細，製錶師需要三個月時間才能完成一隻5101型號腕錶的製作。資料顯示，現時5101型號粉紅金版本發行數量數100枚。
