Catalogue Note

With a IWC guarantee card, an instruction manual and a presentation box.

In 2015, internationally acclaimed watch publication REVOLUTION celebrates 10 years since its founding. In tribute to their close relationship over the years and in recognition of REVOLUTION's significant contributions towards watch culture, IWC Schaffhausen presented Revolution with a unique timepiece – the Portugieser Hand-wound Eight Days Edition “75th Anniversary”, with a movement engraving of the words “REVOLUTION 10TH ANNIVERSARY” – that will benefit Smile Asia, a charity of REVOLUTION’s choice.

This timepiece, a unique single watch edition from the Swiss watch manufacturer, is based on their iconic Portugieser model with an 18-carat red gold case, black dial and movement engraving dedicated to the publication. The design of the watch is a faithful homage to one of the first Portugieser watches produced by IWC in 1939, and houses the manual-winding IWC-manufactured calibre 59215 with eight days of power reserve.

The sale proceeds of the auction will go towards Revolution’s charity of choice, Smile Asia – an international alliance of charities that provides free surgery to children with facial deformities. Since 2008, with the help of dedicated medical volunteers, Smile Asia has contributed to more than 8,000 comprehensive patient evaluations and over 5,000 free surgeries for children and young adults born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities. Smile Asia is one of the most prominent charities for children in Asia, with programmatic implementation in 13 countries.
