Automatic movement in working order when cataloging. This timepiece is now kept in resealed condition, a few very light and minor hairlines near the upper lug, otherwise very clean in general. Overall in excellent condition. Please note that the plastic bag would have to be cut open and strap be taken out should the item be exported out of Hong Kong. Ref. 5131 is a sublime coalescence of two of Patek Philippe’s favourite models.  The case and movement of the reliable world-time Ref. 5130 and the cloisonné enamel dial reminiscent of the vintage world-time Ref. 2523 are both present to grace the then newly launched Ref. 5131 in 2008.  Ref. 5131 caused an immediate sensation among collectors and connoisseurs, and the lasting interest in the model is shown by the extensive customer waiting list for it.  Originally only available in yellow gold with a map of the Americas, the model was later introduced in white gold featuring a cloisonné map of Asia, Africa and Europe such as the current lot.  Ref. 5131 is rare on the market as very few are produced every year due to the difficulty and amount of time required to create hand-made enamel dials; and because of that very nature, each dial could be considered unique.
