Condition

Portrait of Anne Varice de Vallière (v. 1672-1732) To the naked eye: The painting appears in relatively satisfactory condition. It has been lined a little bit too strong on the 1st half of the 20th century. The painting appears under a dirty varnish. The painting has some lifting on the pictorial matter that has caused two circular losses of 0,5 and 1 cm. of diameter on the tree trunk on the left of the composition. We notice numerous wears especially on the browns, essentially on the draperies and the shadows. We notice numerous scattered small restorations especially on the draperies, the right hand of the young woman and the left hand of the old woman. We notice a restored scratch of 30 cm. long on the right, next to the face of the young woman. Under U.V. light: The painting appears under a green uniform varnish. We notice multiples old restorations essentially on the background and the draperies. We notice also the restorations on the hand already mentioned.
