To the naked eye: The painting appears in beautiful condition. It has being correctly lined on the 1st half of the 20th century. The painting appears under a yellow varnish. We notice some irregular varnish traces. We notice two restorations in the sky (7 x 2 cm. and 5 x2 cm. approximately). We notice a thin repaint above the left ship (20 x 0,3 cm.). We notice on the lower left and right corners a light grid of micro-cracks very slightly opened that do not disturb the lecture of the painting. We notice 3 small thin tears restored, two of 10 cm. and one of 3 cm. long in the sky, on the right of the central vessel. Under U.V. light : The painting appears under a green varnish. We notice few restorations close to the lower border and some restorations all along the frame border due to the scrubbing action of the frame. We notice several restorations in the sky and the ones already mentioned and also some small restorations due to the scrubbing action of the frame on the top upper border. Despite the few minor restorations, the painting is impressive.
