Condition
Very good condition overall with some minor surface dirt in the crevices and a few minor chips and losses to the edges and to the drapery, at several places. Terra cotta finely modelled.
Très bon état général avec un peu de poussière à plusieurs endroits sur la terre cuite, notamment dans les parties creuses, quelques petits éclats et manques. Terre cuite finement modelée.

Catalogue Note
Cette belle esquisse illustre les différentes étapes du processus de création du sculpteur avant l'épreuve finale. A la même exposition figurait une Rêveuse d'une composition analogue, sous le n° 352. L'impression d'Amélie Montfort au Métropolitain Museum de New York, réalisée vers 1870, porte une étiquette identique avec le n° 358 de la même exposition.
