Condition

Illustration is accurate. Bronze mounts have been carefully cleaned up; gilding is in good condition, as well as the veneer with few patched restorations. Marble top with few inevitable scratches and tiny edge chips. Beautiful piece of furniture in good condition, imposing look, ready to be displayed.

Catalogue Note

Louis Delaitre, ébéniste reçu maître en 1738, fut l'un des fournisseurs de Pierre Migeon : dans le Livre des ouvriers de ce dernier, son nom apparaît à plusieurs reprises. S. Mouquin répertorie une paire d'encoignures et une commode portant leurs doubles estampilles (ibid., p. 119).
