  • White Gold, Lapis Lazuli and Chalcedony Brooch
The asymmetrical and sculptural brooch, set with three oval-shaped lapis lazuli cabochons and two oval-shaped chalcedony cabochons, gross weight approximately 31 dwts, with French assay and maker's marks for Société Darde et Companie.

Condition

In good condition. The metal displays some scratching, nicking and discoloration throughout and some pitting on the reverse, not visible when worn. There is some residual adhesive found on the backs of several of the cabochons. The chalcedony ranges from a very slightly brownish white to a brownish white and is translucent with some banding. The lapis lazuli is a deep blue with some light blue matrix and pyrite matrix throughout. All of the cabochons display different depths. Length approximately 2⅞ inches, maker's mark dates the piece circa 1966-1975. Fitted with double pin stem.
