Centering a cushion-cut sapphire weighing 43.25 carats, framed by round and marquise-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 2.90 carats, size 4½, with French assay mark; circa 1960.

Condition

In good condition overall. Visible abrading of the facet junctions and scratching to the table, which could be polished by a lapidary. The sapphire is a slightly light medium blue, with some minor windowing. The diamonds are approximately F-H color and VS-SI clarity. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 67311 stating that the sapphire is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.
