Description
- Platinum, Gold, Pearl and Diamond Brooch
Of openwork scrollwork design, suspending a natural pearl drop measuring approximately 10.5 by 9.6 by 8.6 mm, the top centering one pearl measuring approximately 10.5 by 9.0 mm, accented by four natural pearls measuring approximately 7.3 to 7.0 mm, decorated with single, rose, old European and old mine-cut diamonds weighing approximately 5.00 carats; circa 1890.
Condition
In good condition. The mounting has been polished recently, and shows a bright yellow gold undercarriage, topped with silver that is virtually untarnished. The diamonds are approximately H-J color and VS-I clarity. The pearls are a creamy silver shade, with overtones of pink, blue and lavender. With good luster and minor blemishing for the smaller pearls. The larger center pearl and the pearl drop exhibit more wrinkling and dimpling to the skins and are not spherical completely. Accompanied by GIA report no. 6173253552 stating that five of the pearls are of natural, saltwater origin and one of the pearls is of undeterminable origin (due to an impeding mounting).
Accompanied by report no. 2861 A from the Instituto Gemológico y Avalúo stating that the pearls are natural.
