Designed as an articulated koi fish, accented by orange and yellow sapphires weighing approximately 7.80 carats, completed by two cabochon ruby eyes weighing approximately 3.00 carats, gross weight approximately 44 dwts, size 6, signed Laut, numbered 7175; with detachable ring shank and pendant loop for variety of wear.
Condition
In very good condition. The articulated koi fish is set with variegated colors of orange and yellow sapphires which are eye clean to slightly included. The rubies at the eyes are a medium pink-red color and are translucent. Of a nice heft, the ring sits high atop the finger.
Alexander Laut was born in Moscow and emigrated to Hawaii in the early 1990s. His previous work as a journalist, photographer and gallery owner led him to his ultimate admiration of jewelry. Alexander's unique style and creative solutions involves an emphasis on rare natural stones, such as the brightly colored sapphires in this pieces.
