Of geometric design, the agate platform resting on four onyx segments, accented by three rose quartz spheres, accented throughout with 12 sapphire cabochons, the base of the frame additionally applied with black enamel, the base measuring approximately 5 by 2¾ inches, signed Ostertag, with workshop marks for Verger, with French assay marks; circa 1925.
Condition
In good condition commensurate with age. The agate is translucent grayish brown and the rose quartz spheres are medium pink semi-transparent and moderately included. The sapphire cabochons are medium slightly violetish blue and moderately included. The metal exhibits some tarnishing and discoloration. The glass pane is intact and must be carefully slid into the base.
