The valuation bears a handwritten note from Mamie Eisenhower stating that the earclips were given to her from husband Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1946 as they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. An additional note states that Mamie later gifted the earclips to her daughter-in-law Barbara for Christmas in 1967.
