Composed of a faceted amethyst bowl, capped by a fluted cabochon amethyst mounted in an 18-karat gold frame of openwork trefoil design, applied with white enamel, further accented by small cabochon emeralds and rose-cut diamonds, with French assay and workshop marks; circa 1900.
Condition
In good condition. The amethysts are medium slightly pinkish purple and range in clarity from eye-clean (the carved top) to lightly included (the bottom section). The emeralds are medium slightly bluish green and moderately included and the small diamonds are near colorless and decorative in quality. The rose-cut diamond on the top is approximately K-L color, SI clarity. There are some losses to the white enamel elements on the bottom part of the box. Measuring 35.5 x 27.8 mm.
