The necklace composed of enamel and foil-backed glass tesserae depicting butterflies and insects, fixed to a foxtail link chain, length 16 inches; the bracelet composed of enamel and foil-backed glass tesserae depicting two doves flanking a scarab, length 7 inches, with Vatican hallmarks; mid 19th century.

Condition

In good condition. NECKLACE: Under magnification some losses to the tesserae of the left hand drop can be seen. There are also minor losses to chips to the tesserae in some of the other pendants. The reverse of the pendants exhibit some minor denting commensurate with age. BRACELET: Minor losses to the central motif and the outer motif on the female end of the clasp. There is moderate chipping to the glass "eyes" on the outside of the mosaics. The backs of the mosaics also exhibit minor denting and scratching commensurate with age.
