Description
- Jean Schlumberger
- seed pearl, turquoise, diamond, gold, platinum
The multi-strand necklace composed of numerous black seed pearls, spaced at intervals with barrel-shaped links applied with gold paillonné enamel, accented by cabochon turquoises and round diamonds weighing approximately 12.60 carats, length 60 inches, signed Schlumberger Paris, with French assay and workshop marks.
Condition
In good condition. The off-round to slightly baroque pearls display a range of light gray to medium gray body color, some pearls displaying predominantly soft green and pink overtones. While some of the pearls have a fairly unblemished surface, others might display slight pitting and in some cases slight wrinkling to the skins but otherwise good condition. The yellow enameled links are in very good condition, the turquoise beads display a slightly greenish blue to greenish blue hue and are completely free of any matrix. The diamonds are approximately G-H color, VVS-VS clarity. Necklace displays a nice heft when worn.
Please note the pearls have not been tested for natural origin. Please note that a strand has become detached from the necklace. Sotheby's will repair the necklace for the purchaser prior to collection.
