Catalogue Note
From flora and fauna to outer space, Spanish designer Luz Camino looks to a variety of inspirations to create wearable works of art using impeccable craftsmanship. Camino’s pieces exhibit a playful realism and meticulous attention to detail, making her one of the only Spanish designers exhibited at both the Museum of Art and Design in New York and the Decorative Arts Museum in Paris.
Utilizing inspiration from the mobiles created by Alexander Calder and the artworks created by Spanish artist Joan Miró, Camino draws upon her Spanish heritage and predilection for strong design in the present lot. With each ‘branch’ displaying its own choreography, these earclips create a unique sense of movement when worn. Bold and modern in style, these wearable mobiles illustrate Luz Camino’s strength as a designer and her ability to translate a variety of inspirations into jeweled creations.
