Condition

Overall in good condition. The wooden surfaces present with minor surface scratches, minor edge abrasions, minor discoloration and light surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. With a few areas of infill and very sensitively undertaken restoration throughout, only visible upon close inspection. With a few minor hairline cracks which don’t affect the stability of the piece. The sellette is decorated with japanesque floral motifs in the pewter inlays on three sides of the capitol. The metal inlays with a few minor losses, not visually distracting. The piece presents with copper decorations around the upper edge, around the legs and at the top of the base. The copper with delicate embossed geometric motifs. The copper surfaces present with traces of patina and light surface scratches. A sculptural work by Bugatti which displays large scale and strong presence when viewed in person. -----
