Condition
Overall in very good condition. When viewed in person, the beetles present with a delicate enamelled surface with wonderful hues of dark brown and light green, the gold is also more yellow than indicated by the printed catalogue illustration. The reverse of the buckle is also enamelled in translucent bluish pinkish white (sometimes referred to as “oyster” colored enamel). The gold surfaces with minor surface scratches and minute abrasions consistent with age and gentle use. The upper and lower lines adjacent to the central hinge with minor losses to the enamel, visible in the catalogue illustration. Signature located on the trim, near the pinnacle. -----
