Condition
Overall in good condition. When viewed in person, the comb presents with a slightly blonder color than seen in the printed catalogue illustration. The horn is delicately carved with two chrysanthemums flowers and in very good condition with very minute edge abrasions consistent with age and gentle use. The teeth are out of alignment in an undulating fashion (as seen in the catalogue illustration); this does not, however, affect its functionality. One tooth (the second from the signature) has a section of horn missing from the underside, but this is not readily apparent and does not affect its stability with normal use and wear. A fantastic design that epitomizes Rene Lalique’s early creations. -----
