Condition

Overall in good condition. The rosewood displays beautiful figuring and a wide variety of brown hues. The wood surfaces have been sensitively refinished and present with a few light surface scratches, minor abrasions and light surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. The wood of the seat with faint crazing consistent with natural ageing of the material. The sides of the stool with some areas of very sensitively undertaken restorations along the lower edges and adjacent to the upper proper left edge of one side. The wooden square feet with a few expected surface dirt and minor abrasions. A great example of an iconic design by Pierre Chareau that encapsulates his talent for elegantly balanced curves and cut sections. -----
