Condition
Overall in very good original condition. This work displays the deeply sculptural designs of Ponti that was created for the American audience in the 1950s. The Italian walnut surfaces with greater saturation and nuance when viewed first hand with nice figuring especially to the sides of the upper display element. The case shows minor surface scratches, abrasions, edge wear and minor chips consistent with gentle use and age. The front edge of the lower portion of the cabinet with a minor loss to the veneer at the edge, measuring ½ inch in the length. With some minor expected surface scratches adjacent to the keyholes. Scattered surface dirt concentrated to the recessed portions of the design. With a few very minor surface scratches to the white background of the shelving element. The cabinet to the upper display portion with a fall front, shown closed in the catalogue illustration. This element with a few minor surface scratches and some minor surface dirt. Sold with original key. For the purposes of shipping the top shelving element can be detached from the lower case and the three riser elements can be detached. A very good original condition example of the remarkable and dynamic form.
