carved recumbent with legs tucked beneath the slender body with pronounced ribs, the head turned to the back facing the coiled tail, the neck wearing a wide collar suspending a large bell, the smoothly polished stone of an even color, wood stand (2)

Acquired in Japan in the 1970s (by repute). 

Condition

The carving is in good condition. The color of the jade is more of a very pale celadon color than as it appears in the catalogue.
