the globular body rising to a tall cylindrical neck supported on a slightly splayed foot, finely carved in relief through the ruby-red-overlay to a snowflake ground with a design of scholars and attendants in a landscape, with pavilions on rocky outcrops and mountain peaks shrouded in clouds, the shoulder with keyfret and lappet borders, the neck carved with birds in flight amidst blossoming prunus and a band of overlapping leaves at the rim
Condition
In good general condition, with a shallow vertical 0.5 cm chip to one of the lappets at the rim, and several small chips to the extremities of the relief carving, including to the tip of one of the branches beneath the rim, one prunus petal and several small chips to the lappet band at the shoulder.
