the rounded box rising from a short straight foot, the domed cover deftly carved through the ruby-red layer to depict a confronted chilong and a phoenix-headed dragon, carved with florets and lappets above the foot, the base incised with a six-character mark followed by a single character jin (2) 

Condition

A 0.7 cm rim chip to the cover. Otherwise in good condition, with only several minute nicks to the rims and foot, minor surface scratching to the flat base. Label to interior reading: Old Peiping glass'.
