the deep upright sides of the bowl carved with a broad band of overlapping petals with raised central ribs, the domed cover carved with overlapping petals radiating towards the everted rim from an applied central stem knop, both covered inside and out with a crackled glaze of soft bluish-green, Japanese wood box (3)

Condition

The bowl in very good condition. The crackled glaze slightly dry, with a 0.7 cm glaze gap to the base and a 0.2 cm glaze gap below the rim. The cover with a firing star crack to the underside, beneath the finial. Small glaze frits to the rim of the finial.
