the melon-shaped body interrupted by a horizontal ridge, supporting a waisted neck flaring at the rim, set to one side with a gently curved spout opposite an arched strap handle, the lobed cover with bud-shaped finial, covered overall with a translucent pale blue glaze pooling to bright aquamarine color into the recesses, the slightly concave base unglazed (2)

Condition

In good general condition, with the exception of a very small area of restoration to the tip of the underside of the spout. Some staining to the glaze, primarily to the upper half of the spout and around the rim. The glaze with a faint scattered network with crackle, and one slightly stained hairline at the rim, measuring approximately 2 cm. A polished rim chip, and further possible polishing to the rim. Inscribed LL 79 the base of ewer and cover.
