Description

  • ceramics
with deep rounded sides rising to an indented lip, covered overall with a dark speckled brown glaze, thinning to a chocolate brown at the rim, the interior with traces of a design and inscription in silver, the glaze continuing on the exterior and stopping unevenly above the foot to reveal the buff stoneware body

Purchased in Hong Kong, 1986. 

Condition

The silver decoration extremely rubbed; two faint rim cracks and two chips to the unglazed foot, the largest measuring approximately 0.6 cm.
