Description

  • Porcelain
of globular form rising to a tall cylindrical neck, well-painted with stylized floral medallions borne on leafy scrolls, the shoulder with alternating flower heads on an aubergine ground, the neck with further stylized floral meander and surmounted by a diaper cell band, the base with an underglaze blue 'G' mark

Provenance

Acquired in San Francisco in the early 20th century and thence by descent. 

Condition

Aside from some minor wear to the enamels, particularly to the gilding, and an iron spot to the rim, the vase is in overall good condition.
