the compressed globular body decorated with a bowstring band, the base of the neck encircled with an incised line, the rim set with two opposing rope-twist handles, cast with an apocryphal six-character Xuande mark on the base, all supported on three conical feet, the associated stand with an aperture in the center surrounded by three bat-shaped cut-outs (2)

Provenance

Acquired in China prior to 1968 and thence by descent.

Condition

There is a crack in the base around one of the legs, and a small crack in the side of the body.There are minor nicks and signs of wear consistent with age.
