the flattened ovoid body rising from a stepped foot to a waisted neck with galleried rim, flanked by a pair of mythical beast handles suspending loose rings, carved in low relief on both sides with raised oval cartouches, one enclosing two deer in a rocky landscape, the other with a pair of cranes on rockwork, the sides carved with wutong and xiangchun trees, the stepped cover carved with archaistic scrolls and surmounted by a hollow knop, the stone of a smooth pale greenish-white color (2)

Condition
Overall the vase is in good condition. There are two nicks and a fissure crack to the rim approx. 1 in. (2.5 cm) long, and some minor nicks to the extremities.
