carved recumbent with its legs tucked tightly underneath its body, the head turned sharply backward, its finely incised tail flicked upward along the rear haunches, a row of small apertures running down the spine, the beast depicted with bulging eyes, flaring nostrils, jagged mane and characteristic single horn, the gray-green stone suffused with streaky white and brown inclusions, wood stand (2)
