the compressed globular body rising from three short lion paw legs to a short waisted neck with rolled rim, brightly glazed on a straw-coloured ground with splashes of green, blue and ochre around the shoulder with the rim and top of the legs in ochre, the lower body unglazed revealing the pinkish-white body

Condition

This brightly glazed censer is in good condition with the exception of the loss to glaze at three points of the rim with spur marks, a circa 2x2mm., glaze flake to the side of the vessel, a circa 5x1mm glaze flake to the top of one leg, and a slight lean where one leg has slightly slumped in the firing.
