- Canton enamel
of rectangular canted form on four bracket feet, each face painted with a central panel of birds flying amongst or perched on branches of flowering prunus, amidst sprays of peony and chrysanthemum, on a pale lilac diaper ground, above a turquoise gilt and black floral scroll ground, the interior in a pale blue enamel, the exterior base in white enamel with a central rectangular panel of archaic dragons in blue enamel
Condition
The mouth rim is slightly warped. There are very minor enamel flakes and losses throughout, the largest measuring 0.3x0.3cm. The enamels with general crazing, particularly evident around the sides and the base of the jardinière. There are minor scratches and enamel wear. General wear to the gilding along the rims.
