Description

  • champleve enamel
the shield-shaped body rising from a spreading foot to a long waisted neck to a galleried rim, with 'C'-scroll handles attached to the neck, the body decorated with shou characters above lotus, alternating with stylised lotus beneath wan and ascending bats, below a thin band of ruyi at the shoulder and between wide bands of ascending leaves at the base of the neck and above the foot

Condition

There is an area of depression on the shoulder of the vase, with associated enamel infills. There are general minor flakes/losses to the enamel. The vase with small dents along the extremities, and slight wear to the gilding.
