the broad pear-shaped body rising from a spreading foot to a waisted neck and flared rim, with two abstracted animal-form handles, the shoulder moulded with two bowstrings, covered in a deep red flambé glaze with purple suffusions to the lower part of the body, the rim and handles thinning to an off-white colour

Condition

The hu with a triangular area of glaze pull just below the rim above one handle. There is general wear to the glaze, particularly around the rim. The exterior with numerous minute glaze flakes across the surface, as characteristic of the glaze. There are shallow foot chips and minor glaze firing imperfections.
