  • porcelain
robustly potted with a tall slender body with rounded shoulders sloping down towards the waisted foot, freely painted with a continuous landscape immersed in billowing vapours depicting a scholar and attendant carrying a qin instrument, below a band of three quatrefoil cartouches enclosing flower sprays against a diaper ground, the foot encircled with a band of upright leaf-shaped lappets, the recessed base left unglazed

Condition

There is a old restored area of approx. 3.5 by 5 cm to the mouth, stabilising a few connected cracks. The vase is also very slightly tilted and has some expected surface scratches, in addition to minor original firing flaws.
