Description

  • porcelain
potted with deep rounded sides on a short foot rising to a flared mouth, the exterior incised with a cohort of eight boys playing various musical instruments on a terraced garden shaded by pine trees, all below a band of stylised leaves and florets around the rim with overlapping lappets encircling the short foot, the design decorated in brilliant apple-green against a vibrant yellow ground, the base with an underglaze-blue six-character reign mark within a double circle

Condition

The bowl is in overall good condition except an approx. 5 cm hairline crack that has been stabiliised running from the rim at 2 o'clock to the mark.
