- gilt bronze
boldly cast in the form of the wrathful manifestation of Manjusri, the buffalo-faced deity clasping his consort Vajravetali and stepping in pratyalidha with his sixteen legs and trampling a host of demons and birds underfoot, brilliantly gilded with rich painted red details, together with a gilt copper travelling shrine, gau, of arched outline with beaded rim and petal frieze inset with turquoise, worked in repousse with a Kalachakra emblem below a flame and crescent sun, flanked by the characters yue (moon) and ri (sun) and wreathed by foliate scrolls

Condition
The figure is in good overall condition. Although as visible in the catalogue photo, some often attributes in the hands are no longer present, the base plate is intact and the gilding throughout is well preserved. The shrine is well preserved, with just general surface wear and oxidisation. Photos of the shrine are available upon request.
