Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 15 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. There is a localized area of restoration to the top area aperture rim and the area immediately below. The leading appears to have been retouched and one piece of the background glass appears to have been sensitively restored with period Tiffany glass that is harmonious in color palette to the rest of the shade. With surface soiling to the recessed contours of the glass and shade leading consistent with age. The base displays an outstanding rich russet brown patina highlighted with tones of green. The patinated bronze surfaces of the base with some occasional light surface scratches and abrasions, light rubbing, and traces of surface soiling to the recessed contours around the coiled decoration consistent with age and gentle use. The base appears to have been enhanced with later green pigments in some isolated areas below the scrolls on the standard and above the outer perimeter contours of the scrollwork at the top of the base. The base is selectively gilt along the scrolled devices around the perimeter bottom base and the upper decorative collar below the sockets. The outermost perimeter contours of the base with some rubbing to gilt portions of the decorative scheme. All of the sockets and paddle switches appear original and undisturbed. With a period finial that displays a closely corresponding patina to the shade leading. A nice example of this are base model paired with a shade that displays an elegant glass selection distinguished rich red hues and nice nuance in the background glass.
