other with maker's mark and painted MOULTHROP/FIGURED TULIPWOOD - ashleaf maple and tulipwood
Condition
Overall in very good original condition. Both vessels present with very shallow surface scratches, minute edges abrasions and light surface dirt consistent with gentle use. The wood used to execute each work displays rich figuring and a highly saturated color palette. When viewed in person the color of the wood is deeper in hue than it appears in the catalogue illustration. Minor surface soiling to the underside of each base, consistent with use. The surface of the smaller vessel with a few minor surface crazing lines consistent with the material.
Two works of great scale and rich detailing in the wood selection.
