  • Wall Console
  • welded and enameeld steel and marble

Provenance

Commissioned directly from the artist
Thence by descent to the present owner

Condition

Overall in very good original condition. This piece was commissioned directly from the artist and the marble top was selected as it was consistent with other pieces in the collection designed by Phil Powell. It is not a later replacement. The metal covered portion of the console with surface dirt to the recessed portions, surface abrasion and minor lifting all consistent with gentle use. There is an isolated area of corrosion and oxidation to the metal along the top edge of the metal covered element that present green in color as seen in the catalogue illustration. A few adjacent small isolated areas of surface dirt and minor oxidation to this same area of the console. The edges adjacent ot the wall with remnants of white house paint. The marble top is in very good condition showing minor surface scratches. The marble with gray and butterscotch hues. Please contact the department for photographs of the marble top. A wonderful commission piece by Paul Evans which was part of large collection of works by the artist in a private collection.
