Condition

Each of the elements of the office offered in lots 129-132 have been gently used and carefully maintained. Overall good condition. This bookcase was custom designed by Nakashima to accommodate the library of the original owner. The surface throughout, concentrated to the interior of the compartments, with minor surface scratches. The holes for mounting the bookshelf along the back stretcher of the top row appear to have been added later and are irregularly shaped and spaced. These were likely not made by the studio and added later. Please contact the 20th Century Design department at 212-606-7170 for additional images of the bookshelf installed in the exhibition.
