Condition

Overall in good condition. The wood surfaces with a few minor surface scratches, light surface wear, minor surface soiling and minor abrasions and dents consistent with age and gentle use. A minor crack to the outer frame of the seat back adjacent to the joint hardware, which appears old and stable. The leather appears to be original and in good condition, with a few scattered surface scratches, minor markings and minor areas of abrasions, the largest one measuring approximately ¾ inch in diameter, another along the proper left edge of the back, visible in catalogue illustration. The leather surface with some minor surface stains. The reverse of the seat with extremely minor white paint residue. The ropes appear to be original, with a few modification of tape to the end. The ropes in good condition with minor staining from the oxidation of the metal hardware. The metal with minor surface scratches and traces of oxidation. A superb example of a rare Ponti chair form that has acquired a beautiful patina with age.
