Catalogue Note
This pair of illuminated console tables was specially designed by Paul MacAlister for the curved entry rotonda of Will O'Woods, John Rosenthal's estate in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. The house was originally built circa 1918 by theater and silent film actor Holbrook Blinn. In the late 1930s, the house was acquired by banker John Rosenthal, who hired architect Karl Boch to redesign the interior in the Art Moderne style. Boch commissioned custom-made pieces of furniture which were produced by Schmieg & Kotzian, including this pair of consoles.
