the goddess standing in ardhaparyankasana, trampling underfoot two supine figures atop a lotus throne adorned with snow lions, holding a kartrika in the primary right hand and a kapala in the primary left hand, an ankusha in the secondary right hand and a pasha in the secondary left hand, holding a sara in the tertiary right hand and dhanus in the tertiary left hand, surrounded by a flaming halo with rainbow aureole, with a retinue of animal-headed deities, with Vajrayogini in the upper register center, and a retinue of wrathful deities and yogic practitioners in a charnal ground seen in the lower register, framed in a textile mount

Condition

Wear, accretion, and scattered areas of staining and creasing, overall. With Sanskritized Tibetan inscription on verso. Framed in a textile mount. This painting has a 'Made in China' stamp at verso. This stamp was applied to all items exported from China after 1925.
