Description
- painted enamel
with two oval panels delicately enamelled with European figures enclosed by gilt medallions against a ground of translucent blue basse-taille enamel, with a central panel inlaid with agate, each of the panels surrounded by gilt-metal filigree borders, the revise incised with florets and fitting with fastenings
Condition
The filigree-rim of the belt buckle has areas of depression, most evidently at the top left corner. There is a polished chip (0.5x0.4cm) to the lower edge of the agate. The enamels has minor crazing but is in general good condition. The reverse with minor rubbing to the gilding.
