of mirror image, the female immortal modelled standing beside a deer and pierced rocks, her raised arms supporting a candelabra, wearing long iron-red robes decorated with lavish floral roundels, her face with a benevolent expression and her hair gathered into an elaborate twin knot, all supported on a low rocky plinth

Presented to Lady Deterding on the opening of the new Royal Dutch-Shell building in San Francisco on 21st April 1930.
Thence by descent.

Condition

One lady with her head, left-side hair, right hand, both thumbs and some finger tips restored. There are signs of restoration on the deer's collar, ears, antlers, tail. There are minor signs of overpaint elsewhere. The other lady with her right-side hair, right thumb and index finger restored. There are also signs of restoration on the deer's collar and tail. Both candlesticks with minor chips to the extremities, general enamel flake/loss, surface wear and minor glaze firing imperfections.
